An International Retail Chain
The Situation: An international retail chain needed to re-architect, re-design and re-deploy an enterprise data mart/data warehouse to support its domestic and foreign operations. The development effort needed to be accomplished without interruption of the retailer’s massive volume of daily transactions.
The Response: The InSource Group worked with Ascential Software, the retailer’s software development partner, to determine the scope of development and production team resource requirements. The InSource Group then went to work filling the required positions.
The Result: The InSource Group provided 6 of 12 ETL developers needed with Data Stage and Parallel Extender experience, 4 of 8 business objects developers, several project managers and additional ETL testers. At the successful conclusion of the project, several of the ETL consultants transitioned into production support.
Ongoing: The majority of this development team was transitioned to another national retail account to assist in their data mart/data warehouse development effort. The InSource Group arranged joint meetings between the two retailers for an effective transfer of information.
