The Situation: A large defense contractor required an SQL Server Datamart and Data Warehouse utilized for scoreboarding, dashboarding, planning and reporting. To deliver this functionality throughout the organization, developers were required to provide architecture, design, performance and disaster recovery for an MS Office Sharepoint Server. This application would serve 2,000 users across 42 site collections and was estimated to grow from 70 gigabytes to 500 gigabytes in 18 to 24 months.
Results: The InSource Group provided integral personnel to augment the defense contractor’s team for a year. The efforts allowed for executive level daily and weekly reporting of engineering data, which provided new views into the activity and real-time access to data for multiple areas. In addition, the application allowed for successful integration of multiple business acquisitions.
