On Thursday, December 12th, A few memebers of The InSource Group team, including our very own InSource Elf, visited Dallas preschool Mi Escuelita. In the weeks leading up to this visit, The InSource Group team had the opportunity to adopt preschool angels from our office Christmas tree. With generous donations from our employees, The InSource Group was able to adopt 19 angels ages 3-4 from Mi Escuelita to provide learning toy gifts for the holidays. During the preschool’s Christmas party, The InSource Elf delivered the gifts to some very excited children. The elf also read the children a book, played games, and had holiday snacks. This is the second year The InSource Group has adopted angels from Mi Escuelita and is grateful for the opportunity during the holiday season.
About Mi Escuelita
Mi Escuelita Preschool provides early childhood education to low income at-risk children in the Dallas area. Their mission is to teach English to children from all cultures and prepare them for academic success. Mi Escuelita Preschool began providing early childhood education to low income at-risk children in 1978. It was co-founded by Carolyn Strickland Helen Peña. Today Mi Escuelita has 22 classrooms at five centers throughout Dallas. It has a staff of 69 teachers and support staff and a corps of more than 148 community volunteers. In the 2011-2012 school year enrollment averaged 400 children with 208 children graduating in June 2012 to begin kindergarten in the fall.
