Client is looking for a Credentialing Specialist for their Orlando Florida location. Qualified candidate must reside in this general area.
Position Summary: Provide direct credentialing support to clinical providers and facilities. Maintain accurate records of provider credentials. Process provider applications for privileges and reappointments by targeted start dates and renewal dates. Monitor licensure renewal activity for Physicians, CRNAs, APNs and PAs.
Credentialing Specialist 1
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
Populate and prepare applications for providers upon initial process.
Assign files to proper credentialing coordinator Facilitate and Track onboarding paperwork and applications to and from providers.
Review provider applications for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain complete and accurate credentialing files of provider's.
Monitor and notify providers of upcoming expirable, including expiring privileges, licensures, board certifications, MOC requirements and all other state and national required documents necessary for the practitioner to legally and ethically perform under their scope of practice.
Maintain and update the credentialing database and medical staff services as provider information and credentials change or renew.
Maintain and update continuing medical education credits and other training requirements.
Research, update and obtain peer references.
Sort and distribute mail and faxes that are sent to the credentialing department.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with providers and medical staff service departments.
Provide weekly status updates to providers and leadership.
Demonstrate exemplary customer service to our providers and facilities.
Meet targeted credentialing deadlines and start dates.
Follow predetermined department and guidelines regarding attendance Foster a culture of trust and understanding to achieve a positive working environment Consistently meet set work standards.
Proficiently use the credentialing system as instructed by leadership.
Contribute to the advancement and growth of the department.
Adhere to the Standards of Conduct
Adhere to policy and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills: JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Credentialing Specialist 1
Knowledge of organization's policies, procedures and systems.
Have a working knowledge of the credentialing process and requirements.
Knowledge of NCQA and/or JCAHO Accreditation standards.
Knowledgeable in Federal and State Regulation on Confidentiality and Peer Review Guidelines.
Skilled in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, database administration and scanning applications.
Have excellent customer service skills.

Two years of credentialing experience.
