Dallas client is looking for a Design Researcher. This is a critical role for this design driven company. This is a contract position.
Design Researchers are experts at understanding people’s emotions and behaviors to uncover meaningful and surprising insights. Armed with this knowledge, they inspire teams to deliver experiences customers love and to transform their world. They achieve this through mastering three key competencies: CRAFT, KNOWLEDGE, and INFLUENCE.
Design Researchers excel at methodically sound and innovative customer research. They bring a strong holistic point of view of the consumer/customer experience to a variety of teams (e.g, product, marketing, care, strategy) and identify new business opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE of Creativity, Business, & Technology
Design Researchers ensure business and experience decisions are informed by consumer research data and insights. They are familiar with business strategy and design strategy, including the language and practices of design. They skillfully apply creative problem solving and techniques to get disruptive ideas launched.
Design Researchers are influential, data-driven storytellers. They motivate teams to seek, utilize and deliver customer insights throughout the product and service lifecycle, providing teams with relevant recommendations and holding them accountable to insights.
Sets and drives the research strategy with ability to balance speed, rigor, and inspiration Frames & re-frames research questions to uncover motivations, emotions, and insights
Advises & creates research plans – develops rationale and identifies the best methods and tools
Creates and defines customer experience metrics
Facilitates in a way that elicits meaningful responses from customers.
Conducts competitive and comparative audits.
Pursues other data sources.
Innovates and invents new research methods and tools to support teams in gaining user empathy, inspiration, experimentation, & speed
Synthesizes data, combining multiple forms of data (e.g. analytics, trends, market research, scientific knowledge of human behavior), and creates a compelling POV to help teams figure out what to do next Identifies customer needs, pain points, key tasks, insights, frameworks and opportunities for delight
Communicates research data and insights effectively with compelling storytelling, in a way that is actionable and inspires teams
Promotes and fosters customer empathy and insights within teams.
Teaches others basic XDR methods and skills.
Provides recommendations on design.
Holds teams accountable to research data and insights
Design Researchers are expected to be able to prioritize and create the following deliverables in a manner that provides value to project teams:
