Qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Lead discussions with business users and work with development teams to meet business requirements
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- PeopleSoft Financials & IT Help Desk preferred
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Powerplan preferable or other Budget Tools/Applications
- Writing business requirement documents
- Defining business requirements for application upgrades or process improvements
Under general supervision, provides support to application programming staff, application users, and management regarding company application systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champions company change management process and ensures that all work required for change migration is complete, with appropriate authorizations and documentation in place prior to change migration meetings
Migrates software changes made by programming staff between environments (Development, Test, Quality Assurance, and Production) following company standard processes
Performs hardware or software platform support for non-mainframe hardware, including installation and use of system and application software, database management, monitoring and marinating the system for availability of resources
Evaluates application program and system design for compliance with standards and functional requirements
COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of version control software tools.
Knowledge of application system environments and hardware platforms to be able to provide support of applications in production.
Working knowledge of various types of workstations.
Ability to evaluate productivity tools, interfaces between major systems, package systems, and the efficiency and effectiveness of large-house systems.
Ability to implement new applications that meet current and projected client needs.
Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, focus on, and complete work.
Ability to understand and assimilate complex technical information.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment.
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve mechanical problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis on computers and six to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to clearly and concisely write technical, conceptual, and administrative project information
Ability to speak effectively before various groups
Possess very good math skills.
Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
COMPUTER SKILLS:
In depth knowledge of hardware and software platforms
Understanding of version control, testing, and change control processes
Ability to analyze the impact of enhancements and production problems effectively
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues related to application production systems. Ability to identify potential problems with proposed production changes. Ability to evaluate and ensure that testing performed is complete and accurate for changes being made. Ability to identify and resolve problems that occur during the migration process.
DECISION MAKING:
Ability to work with programming staff to understand changes being proposed to production systems and make decisions with programmers, users, and management based on proposed changes, testing results, and migration preparedness.
DEGREE:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
