Chairman of the Board
A. Steven Raab is Chairman of the Board of The InSource Group, a Dallas-based company that provides a full range of information technology (IT) resources including technical staff on a contract, contract-to-hire and full-time basis, and IT project solutions and outsourcing services.
In 1995, in conjunction with the founder of InSource Solutions, Steven started InSource Project Staffing to provide interim or contract information technology technical staff to companies on a project basis, a service that InSource Solutions did not provide. Later that year, the two companies merged to form The InSource Group.
Steven has a long and diverse management and sales background in the Information technology, financial, and real estate industries.
Prior to joining The InSource Group, Steven served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing for a management and information technology consulting firm. It was there that he defined the business plan for what would become The InSource Group.
He began his technical career at IBM, where he held various line and staff management positions in sales and vertical industry markets over a period of 17 years. In September 1974, Steven moved to Dallas with IBM and has lived here ever since.
Steven has also been founder and president of his own custom home building company, as well as Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Real Estate Lending for Champion Savings & Loan, and EVP of Real Time Financial Systems, Inc.
Philanthropic activities are an important part of Steven’s personal life. For the past ten years, his main focus has been Dallas Social Venture Partners (DSVP), where he is a past board member and Chairman and until recently served on the board of Social Venture Partners International. He also served on the board and is a past chairman of Mothers Against Teen Violence, and past President of the Board of The Dallas Institute for Humanities and Culture where he continues to serve on the board.
In addition to philanthropy, Steven is keenly interested in geopolitics, international security, and world affairs. He is active in the Middle East Leadership Academy and the Central Eurasian Leadership Academy where he serves on the board of directors. Steven is also a member of the World Affairs Council of Dallas, Dallas Committee On Foreign Relations, SMU Tower Center Forum and the Society of International Business Fellows. He is also a member of the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center, and is a series subscriber to Arts and Letters Live, TITAS, the Southern Methodist University Tate Lecture Series and many of the other wonderful cultural and arts venues in Dallas.
An avid outdoorsman, he is involved in motorcycling, shooting sports, fly-fishing, running and, recently, returned to aviation where he holds a multi-engine and instrument rating. Steven has a son and two grandsons and he and his wife Ginny share a passion for their three rescued Golden Retrievers, Hudson, Cooper and Bo.
